Go south to avoid Communism — Vietnamese poster
Poster produced and published by the CIA in 1954 during Operation Passage to Freedom in Vietnam. Operation Passage to Freedom was launched to facilitate the travel of hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese civilians and soldiers from the newly-communist north to the south. In the poster, people flee the brutal grey wasteland of the north, below the 17th Parallel (the border between the two Vietnams) to the peaceful green of the south, where a man is waiting to welcome them.
