Grassland Women Militia — Chinese poster
£9.99
Chinese poster (1972) showing female militia members training on horseback. Titled ‘Grassland Women Militia’, the poster was one of many similarly-themed posters published in China in the 1960s and 70s celebrating the people’s militias. Originating in the 1960s, the militias were formed to provide part-time military training to civilians, born out of the Maoist concept of people's war.
